After a superb growing season characterized by warm sunny days and cool nights, the grapes were hand picked before dawn on October 2 and October 14, 2007. The grapes were hand sorted, then crushed, cold soaked and fermented with a period of extended maceration. The wine was aged for twenty nine months in 100% new French oak barrels and then bottle aged for an additional year.
This is a robust well balanced Cabernet, with intense blackberry notes and other black fruit. It shows a balanced and forceful mid palate with an exceptionally long finish. This will will be best drunk after 2012 and will age gracefully for fifteen or more years.
