After a superb growing season characterized by warm sunny days and cool nights, the grapes were hand picked before dawn on October 16, 2006. The grapes were hand sorted, then crushed, cold soaked for four days and fermented with a period of extended maceration. The wine was aged for thirty months in 100% new French oak barrels and then bottle aged for an additional year.
This is an amazing effort! Cassis, spices, oak, vanilla and minerals on the impressive nose. Full of life on the palate with flavors bouncing all over the mouth. Dark Fruits, integrated oak, vanilla, spices and minerals are present and the wine is perfectly balanced. Medium and concentrated finish. Easily this wine will age for a decade. 95 pts.
