After a superb growing season characterized by warm sunny days and cool nights, the grapes were hand picked into small bins on October 29, 2005. They were then hand sorted, and crushed the same day. They were then cold soaked and fermented with a period of extended maceration. The wine was aged for thirty months in 100% new French oak barrels and then bottle aged for an additional year.
This robust, well balanced Cabernet with intense ripe blackberry notes, will drink well now or age gracefully for twenty or more years. This extraordinary, very limited production Cabernet is unfined and unfiltered; expect reasonable sediment.
