The grapes for this wine come primarily from our Lake Cynthia Vineyard on the Silverado Bench in the southern part of the Napa Valley. They were hand picked between September 24, 2009 (Merlot) and October 26, 2008 (Petit Verdot) and fermented in small lots with extended maceration. Total "time on the skins" averaged 35 days. Following fermentation, the wine was aged in a combination of French and American oak barrels (50% new). It is expected that the wine will remain in the barrels for about 23 months prior to bottling. It will be aged an additional 12-13 months in the bottle prior to release.
