The grapes for this wine come primarily from our Lake Cynthia Vineyard on the Silverado Bench in the southern part of the Napa Valley. They were hand picked between October 3, 2007 (Merlot) and October 27, 2007 (Cabernet Sauvignon) and fermented in small lots with extended maceration.  Total "time on the skins" was a lengthy 41 days to achieve maximum extraction, flavor and color stability. Following fermentation, the wine was aged in a combination of French and American oak barrels (45% new - 55% once used) for approximately twenty-nine months prior to blending.  It was aged an additional 7 months in the bottle prior to release.

Deep, dark red color with a dark red hue. A complex and layered nose of focused blackberry and black cherry fruit, with integrated sweet oak notes that support the aromatic profile. On the palate, this wine is hitting on all cylinders. The fruit flavors are upfront, the acidity frames the wine well and the round tannins anchor the finish beautifully. Drinkable, immediately but will gain complexity for the next two decades. No need to hurry to drink this wine. And exceptional wine from an exceptional Napa Valley Vintage.
