2006
Adagio ADAGIO: a musical term meaning a
slow and graceful
tempo. This 2006 vintage is a blend of 48%
Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc
and 5% Petit Verdot. The grapes for this wine come primarily from our
Lake Cynthia Vineyard on the Silverado Bench in the southern part of
the Napa Valley. They were hand picked between September 24, 2006
(Merlot) and October 25, 2006 (Cabernet Sauvignon) and
fermented in small lots with extended maceration. Total
"time on the skins" was a lengthy about 40 days to
achieve maximum extraction, flavor and color stability. Following
fermentation, the wine was aged in a combination of French and
American oak barrels (50% new - 50% once used) for
approximately twenty-nine
months prior to blending. It was aged an
additional 7 months in the bottle prior to release. This
quintessential
Napa Valley "Bordeaux Blend" is blended from our very best
barrels. It has great depth of color, with explosive wild
berry
flavors with notes of chocolate, spice and herbs. It will age well
for years
and be an exceptional compliment to any meal.
