2005 Adagio
Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon "Bordeaux Blend"
ADAGIO: a musical term meaning a
slow and graceful
tempo. This 2005 vintage is a blend of 80%
Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc.
The Cabernet
Sauvignon grapes were sourced from Beckstoffer's Dr.
Crane
Vineyard in St. Helena, one of America's
(and the Napa
Valley's)
oldest and most important
vineyards. The grapes were hand picked on October 4, 2005, and
fermented in a
small lot with extended maceration. Total
"time on the skins" was a lengthy twenty-one days to
achieve maximum extration. Following
fermentation, the wine will aged in 100% new American oak barrels for
approximately twenty-eight
months prior to blending. It will aged an
additional 8 months in the bottle prior to release. This
quintessential
"Bordeaux Blend" California Cabernet, with explosive wild berry
flavors, will age well
for years
and be an exceptional compliment to any meal.
Awarded the Double Gold Medal
at the 2008 SF International Wine Competition. A competition of
more than 4,000 wines from 1400 wineries in 21 countries.
